Emily Jones has more than 20 years’ experience in education including 15 years in senior leadership, headship, management and national trade union roles.
Prior to joining Springfield Junior School earlier this term, Ms Jones’s recent roles include being Headteacher of Cooper Perry Primary School in Staffordshire.
Ms Jones said: “I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of Springfield Junior School, a vibrant, inclusive community where the children are at the very heart of everything we do.
“We pride ourselves on fostering a nurturing and calm environment where everyone feels safe, respected and ready to learn.
“We are committed to working with parents and carers and our local community to support pupils’ growth and development. We believe that strong relationships between home and school are essential for the success of our children.”
Based on Springfield Road in Swadlincote, the Ofsted graded ‘good’ school has around 195 pupils aged 7 to 11 on roll, and aims to create a safe, stimulating and happy environment where all children achieve their potential.
Offering a broad, balanced curriculum that includes the arts, sports and technology, the school is committed to providing every child with the opportunity to explore their interests and talents.
Mark Mallender, Chief Executive Officer, QEGSMAT, added: “Emily has a strong commitment to the school’s ethos and brings a wealth of valuable experience. We are delighted to welcome her to our Trust.”
